never seen never will

  When I sat down to try to come up with something I will never see, it was incredibly hard to do. There's nothing I can think of that I want to see incredibly bad but will never be able to. So instead, I chose something I wont see for a really long time. The aurora Borealis is a beautiful display of lights or rather electrically charged particles form the Earth's atmosphere. The pictures of it are absolutely stunning and it's been on my top places to go for a while. However, there are a few issues that won’t be changing anytime soon that prevent me from seeing them. For 1. I am a broke college student. Like I genuinely had decided if a Mcchicken was in my budget for this week (they took it off the dollar menu :( ). In no way can I go to Alaska, Canada, Or Greenland to see the site. Now my family takes vacations, but none of those locations are places I see my family ever going to. Which brings me to issue number 2. My mother HATES the cold. Genuinely winter is one of her biggest enemies. We are strictly a warm climate visiting family. Which I love of course, but means no northern lights for me. When creating Aurora Borealis through my own medium, I had trouble coming up with a plan. I consider myself an artist so I wanted to draw or paint something resembling the lights that I could look at until I could see them in person one day. However, everything I came up with didn't quite do them justice. After some brief research for inspiration I came across a live feed of the lights and just sat and looked at them for a long time. There are a few songs that came to mind while I was watching and letting my mind wander. For my medium I made a playlist of music that reminds me of the northern lights and I hope to one day listen to them while I watch them. I am not the first person to create a playlist inspired by aurora borealis, but I personally think mine the best and it shows how I feel about them. I attached a link to the playlist as well as the website with the live feed of the northern lights. I'll admit, after looking at all the songs together, its sadder then I meant it to be, But the purpose of the playlist to represent the feelings I feel when I look at the Northern Lights until I can go see it for myself.

  When first reading about this assignment I had a very clear idea come to mind. I was going to draw a rectangle with a bunch of random shapes in the middle. But after I sketched my first idea out, I wasn't all too pleased. Something about the square shape didn't sit right with me as a representation of myself. Chapstick Frankenstein

When first looking around my dorm room, I am presented with many different interesting things that stand out to me. For example, I have a tiny succulent magnet that I am quite the fan of. I also have a light up sign that says “you go girl”. I mean who wouldn’t find that sick as heck. But after some intense ispy around my room, something stood out to me: my chapstick. My chapstick can be identified with the following traits: Pink exterior with dark pink roses and polka dots Black lettering depicting the product description as well as the brand The writing and design isn't directly prints on the tube but rather onto a paper surrounding the tube Said paper is peeling off from the bottom corner It's about 4.5 inches It smells amazing and is a lip scrub To customize it to “make it my own” I scooped out the chapstick that was in the tube, which was surprisingly sticky, and inserted part of a burts bees chapstick I had laying around whose original container was chewed on by my dog.
